Open Council Position
With former Mayor Harden stepping down from the Council mid-term, there is an opening for the remainder of his term, which expires December 31, 2024. If you are interested in applying, fill out the form below or submit a volunteer application to City Hall by 4 p.m. on April 17, 2023. The Council will review and appoint a person at their meeting on April 25, 2023.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must be:
- An eligible voter
- Lived within City limits for at least one year as of April 25, 2023
About the Position
- Serve on a volunteer basis without pay
- Responsible for setting policies for the entire City
- Sets and approves the yearly work plan, special programs and events, and the annual City budget
- Work closely with the Parks and Planning Commissions, as well as other cities in the area
- Attend meetings and events
- Meets twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday
- Term expires on December 31, 2024
