Snow & Ice Plan
With the heavy snowfall and overnight freezing temperatures, the City has been busy working to clear roadways of ice and snow. The City’s winter response route consists of 2 categories for residential streets:
Priority 1 – Hills, steep grades, and intersections;
Priority 2 – Residential streets and the City Park.
Multnomah County Transportation maintains the arterial streets: Glisan, 223rd, Halsey, 238th, Arata, Wood Village Blvd, and Sandy Blvd. See current updates on the county's Snow and Ice Plan page.
Stay safe by avoiding icy and snow-covered roads. If you have to be out on the road, drive cautiously and use Trip Check to monitor road conditions before you leave the house. Help road crews by moving cars off residential streets if possible to make snow removal easier and quicker.
City Hall Closures
Due to hazardous road conditions, the City Hall offices will be closed to in-person services on Thursday, February 23, and Friday, February 24, 2023. City Hall will only offer remote services via phone or email. If you need to pay your utility bill, use the City's online bill pay.
Thursday 2/23 - Remote Services Only. Staff will be available by phone or email.

Winter Storm Prep
As temperatures are expected to be well below freezing, follow these tips to stay warm and keep pipes from freezing:
- If using a space heater, plug it directly into a wall outlet and keep it at least 3-feet from flammable objects
- Open cabinet doors and allow faucets to drip, especially if plumbing is on exterior walls
- If traveling, pack an emergency car kit in the case of getting lost or stranded
- If you are in need of shelter, the county has opened warming centers and severe weather shelters
