Your Voice 2020: Community Survey Open Until February 29

How does access to the Internet affect people’s lives in Multnomah County? Who is included in our digital economy and who’s being left out? Whose voices and experiences are being represented in local media? Your Vo!ce 2020 intends to find out.

The Your Vo!ce-Our Communications Technology 2020 initiative seeks to understand who has access to the Internet and media technology; how people are using technology to connect, inform and engage in their communities; and why many are left out of our digital society.

Through taking the community survey, residents can have a say in shaping a roadmap for an accessible and inclusive technology future. The Your Vo!ce survey can be taken online at Your Vo!ce website. Those without access to the internet can call (503) 823-5385 to obtain a paper copy or to take the survey over the phone. The survey is open through February 29, 2020.

The survey results will be used by elected officials, community and business leaders, schools, libraries, public agencies, and nonprofits to understand the community’s needs and allocate future resources. The Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission will also use the data to determine potential public benefits of Comcast’s cable services franchise, which is due to expire December 2021.

The survey invites participation from people who live and/or work in Portland, Gresham, Fairview, Troutdale, Wood Village, and Multnomah County.  Responses are anonymous and will only be reported as part of a larger group.

Your Vo!ce 2020 is an initiative of the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission, in partnership with Portland’s Office for Community Technology, Multnomah County Library, and Multnomah County.
