TriMet Pedestrian Plan Work Sessions
Given the evolving COVID-19 situation, these meeting have moved to a web-only format. Please RSVP to Eve Nilenders at nilendee@trimet.org by Friday, 3/27.
TriMet is developing a Pedestrian Plan that prioritizes locations for improving pedestrian access to transit. In your position as someone who helps shape investment decisions, we are asking for your involvement in the next step in the process.
The planning process has reached an important point. We have established a prioritization approach based on stakeholder and public input. Before we finalize this process and the results, we will host two work sessions with agency staff to communicate where we are in the process and allow for a close review of the draft results. We strongly encourage technical staff who are familiar with local policy, funding, and implementation of capital projects to be involved. Consultants Alta Planning + Design and JLA will facilitate the session.
There are two meetings planned, one for jurisdictions on the east side of our service district and one for the west side. While you are welcome to attend either session, attending the one in your part of the region will help facilitators to keep break-out sessions more geographically focused.
Audience:
Planners, technical staff, and planning decision-makers from local jurisdictions in Washington County, Multnomah County, and Clackamas County.
Event Goals/Purpose of Meeting:
• Provide a detailed explanation of the pedestrian plans prioritization approach, discuss its results, and identify any necessary adjustments to align with localized needs
• Provide a useful, relevant resource that can support jurisdictions’ decision making and help to leverage funding
• Identify opportunities for collaboration between and advancing shared goals of TriMet and jurisdictions
