Traffic Alert: Stark Street Bridge Postponed

A structural inspection of the Stark Street Bridge over the Sandy River in late June will impact traffic between 9 a.m. and the early afternoon.  Multnomah County Transportation staff will use a boom lift vehicle set up in a traffic lane to inspect the bridge.  Flaggers will direct traffic on the single open lane, but there will be times when traffic is stopped to move the lift vehicle.  The work is not weather-dependent.

Drivers should expect delays up to 15 minutes.  The alternate route is the Historic Columbia River Highway to the Troutdale Bridge.  Due to the narrow width of the Stark Street Bridge, large trucks and buses will be detoured to the Troutdale Bridge during the inspection.

Multnomah County maintains the Stark Street Bridge and more than 270 miles of roads in rural and urban areas.  For bridge information, visit the Bridges page.
