Fireworks can make celebrations fun, but it’s important to use them safely. Each year, fireworks cause injuries and fires across the state. Keep these things in mind when celebrating the holiday:
Fireworks and explosives are not allowed in any City parks or open spaces.
Store fireworks out of children's reach. Only adults should light fireworks.
Always have a garden hose or a bucket of water nearby.
Discard firework debris in a non-combustible container.
Do not call 911 to report illegal fireworks unless there is a fire. Use the Non-Emergency line instead (503) 823-3333.
