Park Reservations & General Park Usage
With the holiday falling on a weekend, the City anticipates both an increase in park reservations and park users. Please be respectful of reserved spaces (picnic shelter, gazebo, and ball fields) and check the posted reservation schedule at each location or online to ensure it is available before using. For those with reservations, please be respectful and honor the time limit of your reservation to allow others use of the facility.
As a general reminder, the following areas are NOT available for reservations and may not be reserved with private signs in advance:
- Picnic tables and/or grills near the Splash Pad
- Picnic tables and/or grills near the Ball Field
- Splash Pad
- City Hall Plaza
Planning a trip to the park to celebrate? Keep these things in mind:
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park.
- Tobacco and marijuana products (including smoking and vaping) are not permitted in the park.
- Help us keep the park clean by throwing away all trash in the available trash cans. If you notice a trash can is full, please throw your trash in either of the two dumpsters at the park (one near the picnic shelter; one near the City Hall parking lot).
- Pets are welcome in the park anytime! Please keep others and your pets safe by having them on-leash at all times. Dog waste stations can be found around the park, so please clean up after your pets.
- Charcoal grills are available first come, first served in the picnic areas at the park. Please keep us all safe by ensuring all fires and coals are fully extinguished before leaving. Hot coal bins are located next to each grill for easy disposal. Please do not put trash in the hot coal bins.
- The Splash Pad is a great place to cool down for kids, pets, and adults alike! After starting, the Splash Pad will run around five minutes each cycle. Please use caution as the cement can be slippery when wet and the surrounding cement may be hot on bare feet.
Safety Reminders
Fireworks of any kind are not permitted in the park at any time (WVMC 12.08.200). If you see illegal fireworks in the park, please do not call the City or 911. Instead, please call the sheriff's non-emergency line at (503) 823-3333.
To keep everyone and the park safe, the City has scheduled extra security patrols at Donald L Robertson City Park for the weekend beginning on Friday, July 4th through Sunday, July 6th. Additionally, staff will be visiting the park throughout the weekend to help keep the park and its facilities clean and well maintained.

At Home
If you are purchasing fireworks for use at home, please keep in mind that any firework that flies into the air, explodes, or behaves in an uncontrollable and unpredictable manner is illegal in Oregon. Report illegal fireworks to the non-emergency line at (503) 823-3333.
