Do you know a person or organization that has made Wood Village a better place? Is there an individual or group that is always helping those in need? If so, please consider nominating them for the Community Member of the Year Award. This award was established to acknowledge the important role that community volunteers and giving back have in helping create and sustain our wonderful community. The person or group does not have to live in, or have a business in Wood Village, but at least some of their service must benefit the people of Wood Village.
The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, November 26th, at 4:30pm. The City Council will be reviewing all nominations at its December meeting and will select the winner for 2025. Please consider taking a few minutes to nominate someone, so that they may receive the recognition they deserve. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to make our community a better place to live!
About the Award
The Wood Village Community Member of the Year program was established to help recognize those who contribute greatly to the betterment of the Wood Village community and general society. One does not need to be on the City Council or appointed to a board to make a lasting and meaningful impact on this great City, but rather a passion for service. This award is intended to recognize and thank those who serve the City of Wood Village and its community members.
Nominee Qualifications: The Community Member of the Year does not have live or have business in Wood Village, but at least some of their service must benefit the people of Wood Village. This service cannot be paid, and employees of the City are not eligible. There is no minimum age restriction, or limit on how many times a person/organization/business may be nominated or be selected for the award.
Selection Process: The Selection Committee will nominate the Community Member of the Year from nominations received by the deadline, and the committee’s recommendation will be reviewed by members of the Wood Village City Council and others that may be appointed by the Council for award consideration.
Award: The Community Member of the Year will receive a gif card package, plaque, be featured in the City’s newsletter, participate in the City’s annual Appreciation Event, and have their name on a plaque of all award winners at the Wood Village City Hall and Civic Center.
