Active Projects
The City of Wood Village is rehabilitating NE 236th Avenue between Shannon Street and Shamrock Drive to improve roadway conditions, extend pavement life, and enhance stormwater management. The project is part of the City’s ongoing investment in maintaining and improving public infrastructure.
Work includes:
- Full roadway rehabilitation on NE 236th Avenue between Shannon Street and Shamrock Drive.
- Pavement reconstruction and resurfacing.
- Stormwater system improvements designed by RH2 Engineering.
- Installation of three new catch basins.
- Replacement of one existing catch basin.

Traffic Impacts

Vehicles left on project streets during posted construction hours may be subject to towing. Vehicles removed from the work area will be relocated to Wood Village City Hall, where owners may retrieve them.

The City of Wood Village Public Works Department is sealing sewer manholes throughout the City to reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I) within the wastewater system, improve system efficiency, and extend the life of existing infrastructure. This work is part of the City’s ongoing investment in maintaining its wastewater system and identifying deficiencies before they require larger and more costly repairs.
In 2025, the City contracted with Lovett Services to seal 10 sewer manholes within the upper wastewater system. Through this project, Public Works staff demonstrated that the same work could be completed in-house using a fraction of the funds originally appropriated for the capital project. This approach allows the City to address additional work needed on certain manholes and make better use of available resources.
Work includes:
- Sealing manholes to reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I).
- Identifying and correcting deficiencies associated with sewer manholes.
- Documenting manhole conditions, sizes, and depths for the City’s new asset management system.
- Prioritizing manholes requiring larger repairs and developing future project needs and budgets.
- Monitoring wastewater flow data to better understand the amount of I&I entering the system.

Anticipated completion date: June 2027
Impacts
Inflow and infiltration occurs when stormwater or groundwater enters the wastewater collection system through sources such as damaged infrastructure, defective manholes, or other deficiencies. Reducing unnecessary water entering the system can improve wastewater system capacity and reduce the amount of water that must be treated.
The initial manhole rehabilitation work is expected to be completed by June 2027. Following completion, the City will monitor wastewater flow data through 2028 to develop a better understanding of the amount of I&I affecting the system and establish a baseline for future improvements.
Reducing I&I is anticipated to improve system efficiency and may reduce wastewater treatment costs paid to the City of Gresham, where the City of Wood Village contracts for wastewater treatment.
Projects in Planning
The City of Wood Village is planning accessibility and ballfield improvements at Donald L. Robertson Park to enhance safety, accessibility, and recreational opportunities for community members.
Work includes:
- Construction of a safer, ADA-accessible crossing between the splash pad and restroom building.
- Improvements to address existing accessibility challenges associated with the current crossing location.
- Replacement of worn ballfield infield soil with appropriate athletic field materials.
- Improvements designed to enhance field safety, playability, and long-term maintenance.

The City of Wood Village is planning a new wetland park on approximately 4.5 acres at the southeast corner of Wood Village Boulevard and Arata Road. The project will restore and enhance the site’s natural wetland functions while creating new recreational and educational opportunities for the community.
Work includes:
- Wetland restoration and habitat enhancement.
- Construction of an elevated boardwalk and pathway system.
- Protection and preservation of existing native vegetation.
- Native plant installation and restoration in partnership with the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and Wisdom of the Elders.
- Environmental, geotechnical, and structural improvements necessary to meet state and federal permitting requirements.
- Creation of accessible public open space within a protected wetland environment.

The City of Wood Village is planning a new booster pump station at Reservoir #1 to improve the reliability, redundancy, and resilience of the municipal water system. The project will transfer water from the Lower Pressure Zone (LPZ) to the Upper Pressure Zone (UPZ), helping address existing system deficiencies, improve operational flexibility, and ensure continued delivery of safe and reliable water service to the community.
