Anyone who needs transportation support should dial 2-1-1. In addition to cooling centers, Portland public pools and splash pads are now open.

An excessive heat watch will be in effect through next week. Make sure to bring extra water, and if you see someone who looks disoriented or confused. Those can be signs of them experiencing heatstroke. Offer to help them move to a cooler space and call 9-1-1. If you have pets or livestock, keep them in the shade/cooler spaces with access to plenty of water and set up a sprinkler during the hottest hours, if possible. Should there be an animal in a car, Multnomah County Animal Services recommends contacting Dispatch at (503) 988-7387, Animal Control Officers, or Municipal Police Departments.
