Description of Event

No Ivy Day is a project to continue working on removing ivy from Donald Robertson Park in Wood Village. English ivy is an invasive plant that has covered many of the trees in the park. Curling itself around these trees in tight mats, the ivy can serve as a fire ladder for wildfires to spread. Removing the ivy strengthens the trees to be more resilient, at the same time providing food and habitat for birds and wildlife in the park.
