Description of Event

Give your belongings a second life and connect with neighbors at this free community repair event and clothing swap. Skilled volunteers will be on hand to help fix common household items, while a clothing swap offers a chance to refresh your summer wardrobe sustainably.

What can be repaired?

Please review the list carefully before attending.

  • Electronics repair and computer cleaning/tune-ups
These repairs generally take longer and are limited to one item per person.
  • Clothing and fabric repairs, including torn clothing, missing buttons, and sock or knit repair
  • Small household items such as broken lamps, fans, clocks, vacuums, and small kitchen appliances
  • Jewelry repairs like broken clasps and earring hooks (no fine jewelry)
  • Manual garden tool sharpening for pruning shears, loppers, shovels, and spades (No handsaws, knives, or power tools)

Not repairable at this event: bikes, televisions, microwaves, small engines, and sewing machines.

Plan ahead for your repair

  • Bring any parts or supplies that may be needed for your repair, such as buttons, matching thread, power cords, batteries, or instruction manuals.
  • Participants may bring multiple items, but repairs are handled one item at a time, and we may not be able to fix more than one item per person.
  • Volunteers will do their best, but some repairs may be too complex or require tools or parts that are not available.
  • There may be a wait, depending on the number and type of repairs.

Clothing Swap

Theme: Clean summer clothing in good condition.

Browse the clothing swap to find items that are clean and in good repair. You’re welcome to bring clothing to share, but you do not need to donate or have an item repaired to participate.

  • Please bring your own bag
  • Master Recyclers will be available to answer questions about reuse, repair, and waste prevention

This event is a great way to reduce waste, save money, and build community -- whether you’re fixing a favorite item or finding something new-to-you.
