The cities of Fairview, Troutdale, and Wood Village purchase fire and medical response services from the City of Gresham through an intergovernmental agreement (IGA). These services include fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical service, but not transport, and hazardous materials response. Combined, the three cities have a service area of approximately 10.5 square miles, with a population of just under 33,000 people.  Annual calls for service have ranged from 3,020 in 2021 to 2,729 in 2023.  Of these calls, about 68% are medical-related.  The three cities completed a comprehensive service evaluation in 2014 and was updated for the City of Wood Village in 2023 for the purpose of exploring fire and emergency service providers and service enhancement opportunities.  The agreement with the City of Gresham expires in June of 2025, and the cities are interested in exploring options and alternatives for fire and medical service delivery.
