2017 Tree Lighting Ceremony

On Saturday, December 2nd, City Hall was the setting for the 8th annual Tree Lighting event.  While we did not light our 85 foot tree, several smaller trees and shrubs were lit, as well as City Hall.  Our 85 foot tree did have a large star lit at the top, which was seen for miles around.  The Reynolds High School Expression’s Choir sang songs of the season for the record-setting crowd, and the Chapel in Troutdale provided free hot chocolate, coffee, cider, and cookies for all the guests.  All the children received a free book thanks to the generosity of the Wood Village Kohl’s, and the Barlow High School Dance Team.  The event was capped off by a visit from Santa, who was delivered by Gresham Fire.  We also want to thank the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, and AAA of Oregon for their financial support of this event.  We hope you were able to enjoy all the lights during the Holiday Season!
